The HUSKY 2e will join the acclaimed HUSKY 2 INV lineup of 12V, 24V and 48V LiFePO4 deep cycle batteries for RVs, camper vans, travel trailers, boats, yachts and off-grid solar power systems that run on an inverter.

BigBattery Husky 2 INV Series – 12V, 24V, 48V LiFePO4 Batteries for RV, Marine, & Off-Grid Systems
BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV is a lithium deep cycle battery that stores 5.12kWh in a 12.6 × 18.1 × 9.8-inch, IP65-rated enclosure, with built-in self-heating, a smart battery management system (BMS) and closed-loop communication with supported inverters over CANBus and RS485. All three voltages store the same 5.12kWh: the 12V HUSKY 2 INV holds 400Ah, the 24V HUSKY 2 INV holds 200Ah and the 48V HUSKY 2 INV holds 100Ah.
“We designed HUSKY 2 INV so RV, boat, and off-grid solar owners get a complete 12V, 24V or 48V lithium deep cycle battery in one case,” said Eric Lundgren, CEO of BigBattery. “It isn’t the cheapest battery you can buy, and it was never meant to be. Every one ships with self-heating, an IP65 enclosure, inverter communication, app monitoring and a 12-year warranty. HUSKY 2e will soon give more RV, boat, and solar system owners a lower-cost entry into the 12V HUSKY 2 platform with the same advanced engineering expected from our products.”
Coming soon: the 12V HUSKY 2e 314Ah lithium battery
The 12V HUSKY 2e is an upcoming 12V 314Ah LiFePO4 battery from BigBattery that stores 4kWh. It is planned as an optimized, lower-cost version of the 12V HUSKY 2 INV, which stores 400Ah and 5.12kWh, and sits in the 300Ah class of 12V lithium batteries.
Built into every HUSKY 2 INV LiFePO4 battery
- Tier 1 LiFePO4 cells managed by a smart BMS with automatic cell balancing and protection against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuits and temperature extremes
- Built-in self-heating that warms the cells above 32°F before charging begins, so every model works as a cold weather lithium battery that accepts a charge in ambient temperatures from -4°F to 113°F
- IP65 / NEMA 4X-rated, vibration-resistant enclosure for road, water and outdoor installs
- Closed-loop communication with supported inverters over CANBus and RS485, subject to model, voltage and protocol compatibility, so the inverter receives BMS-reported state of charge instead of estimating it from voltage; INV marks it as the inverter battery version of HUSKY 2

12V HUSKY 2 INV: a 12V 400Ah LiFePO4 deep cycle battery
BigBattery’s 12V HUSKY 2 INV (12.8V nominal) is a 12-volt lithium battery that stores 400Ah, or 5.12kWh, in a single case. It delivers 250A continuous and 500A peak for three seconds, accepts up to 200A of charge current, and ships with a 2AWG cable, mounting brackets and carrying handles. One 12V 400Ah HUSKY 2 INV matches the rated capacity of four 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries connected in parallel in one case and can deliver close to double the usable energy of a 400Ah 12V AGM bank, since lead-acid banks are typically discharged only about halfway to protect their life. Sixteen in parallel reach 6,400Ah at 12V.
24V HUSKY 2 INV: a 24V 200Ah lithium battery for larger RV, marine and off-grid systems
BigBattery’s 24V HUSKY 2 INV (25.6V nominal) is a 24-volt lithium battery that stores 200Ah, or 5.12kWh. It delivers 200A continuous and 500A peak for five seconds and accepts up to 150A of charge current. At 24V, a system draws half the current of a 12V system for the same power, which means less voltage drop and heat.
48V HUSKY 2 INV: a 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery for 48V inverter systems
BigBattery’s 48V HUSKY 2 INV (51.2V nominal) is a 48-volt lithium battery that stores 100Ah, or 5.12kWh. It delivers 100A continuous and 150A peak for three seconds and accepts up to 100A of charge current. It’s sized for van builds, RVs, marine applications, off-grid cabins and backup power systems built around 48V inverters.
HUSKY 2 INV as a lithium RV and camper battery
BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV is a lithium RV battery for house power in Class A, B and C motorhomes, travel trailers, campers and camper van builds, replacing a lead-acid RV deep cycle battery to run lights, water pumps, fridges and inverter loads. One 12V 400Ah battery stores 5,120Wh, which BigBattery estimates runs a 200W continuous RV load for about 24 hours; actual runtime depends on appliance draw, inverter efficiency, temperature and other loads, so RV owners should size a bank around measured daily energy use. Switching an RV to lithium means checking the existing wiring, fuses, converter or charger and alternator charging before installation, with charging equipment configured to BigBattery’s LiFePO4 charging parameters. Built-in self-heating warms the battery before charging, so RVs and vans that travel or park in freezing weather can still recharge.
HUSKY 2 INV as a lithium marine battery for boats and yachts
BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV is a lithium marine battery for boats and yachts, built as a deep cycle marine battery that delivers steady power for hours rather than a short burst to start an engine. As a lithium boat battery, it powers onboard house loads, marine systems and electronics from an IP65 and NEMA 4X-rated enclosure: IP65 covers dust and water jets, NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance, and neither is an immersion rating. Vibration-resistant construction suits marine installs, and built-in self-heating warms the battery before charging, so it accepts a charge in ambient temperatures from -4°F to 113°F on boats used in cold weather. Boat owners can match a 12V, 24V or 48V marine electrical system, and every model stores 5.12kWh.
HUSKY 2 INV as an off-grid solar and backup battery
The 12V model works as a 12V solar battery for small off-grid homes and backup systems, the 24V model for mid-size off-grid homes and backup systems, and the 48V model for off-grid and backup power systems built on 48V inverters. Built-in self-heating warms each battery before charging, so it can recharge in freezing cabins down to -4°F.
HUSKY 2 INV for work and commercial vehicles
HUSKY 2 INV batteries also power commercial vehicles, food trucks, emergency backup systems, and light towers and signs.
Frequently asked questions
What is a deep cycle battery? A deep cycle battery is built to deliver steady power over a long period and to be deeply discharged and recharged many times, unlike a starting battery that delivers a short burst to crank an engine. BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV is a LiFePO4 deep cycle battery for RV, marine and off-grid systems, rated for 4,000 to 6,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
What is a deep cycle marine battery? A deep cycle marine battery runs a boat’s electronics and onboard systems for hours, while a marine starting battery cranks the engine, so not every marine battery is deep cycle. BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV is a lithium deep cycle marine battery in an IP65 / NEMA 4X-rated, vibration-resistant enclosure.
How long do deep cycle batteries last? Lifespan depends on chemistry and how deeply the battery is cycled. BigBattery’s HUSKY 2 INV uses LiFePO4 chemistry rated for 4,000 to 6,000+ cycles depending on depth of discharge and operating conditions, and carries a 12-year limited warranty with lifetime U.S.-based tech support.
How do you charge a deep cycle battery? Charge a lithium deep cycle battery with a charger, converter or inverter-charger configured to the battery maker’s LiFePO4 charging parameters, and check existing lead-acid charging equipment before reusing it. HUSKY 2 INV accepts a maximum charge current of 200A at 12V, 150A at 24V and 100A at 48V, and its self-heating warms the cells before charging in ambient temperatures down to -4°F. With a supported inverter, closed-loop CANBus or RS485 communication sends BMS-reported state of charge to the inverter.
Are AGM batteries deep cycle, and can a 12V 400Ah lithium battery replace them? Many AGM batteries are built for deep cycle use, but AGM is a sealed lead-acid design. One 12V 400Ah HUSKY 2 INV matches the rated capacity of four 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries connected in parallel and can deliver close to double the usable energy of a 400Ah 12V AGM bank, which is typically discharged only about halfway. Charging equipment must be configured to LiFePO4 charging parameters.
How many amp hours is a deep cycle battery? It varies by battery, and 100Ah is a common size for a 12V lead-acid deep cycle battery. Each HUSKY 2 INV stores 5.12kWh: 400Ah at 12V, 200Ah at 24V and 100Ah at 48V.
How do you test a lithium deep cycle battery? Check a LiFePO4 battery’s state of charge through its BMS rather than by voltage alone, because LiFePO4 voltage stays nearly flat through most of the discharge. HUSKY 2 INV reports state of charge over Bluetooth in the HUSKY app on iOS and Android, on a built-in LED indicator and on an optional external display.
What is the difference between the 12V, 24V and 48V HUSKY 2 INV lithium batteries? All three store 5.12kWh in the same 12.6 × 18.1 × 9.8-inch enclosure. The 12V model holds 400Ah, the 24V model 200Ah and the 48V model 100Ah; higher voltage means lower current for the same power.
How many lithium batteries do I need for my RV? Size the bank around measured daily energy use. One 12V 400Ah HUSKY 2 INV stores 5,120Wh, which BigBattery estimates runs a 200W continuous load for about 24 hours; air conditioners, inverter losses and cold weather shorten that. Up to 16 matching batteries connect in parallel, for as much as 6,400Ah at 12V.
Can I replace my RV battery with a lithium battery? Yes, after checking the RV’s electrical system. HUSKY 2 INV uses standard M8 terminals and can replace a lead-acid RV deep cycle battery, but existing wiring, fuses, the converter or charger and any alternator charging should be checked for compatibility first, with charging equipment configured to LiFePO4 charging parameters.
Will my RV converter charge a lithium battery? It can if the converter’s charging voltage and behavior match the battery’s LiFePO4 charging parameters; check a lead-acid converter before reusing it, since a lithium preset alone doesn’t guarantee a match. The 12V HUSKY 2 INV accepts a maximum charge current of 200A.
How do you keep RV and boat lithium batteries warm in winter? HUSKY 2 INV has built-in self-heating: when charging starts in the cold, it warms the cells above 32°F before charging begins, so every model accepts a charge in ambient temperatures from -4°F to 113°F without an external warming system. That makes it a cold weather lithium battery for RVs, vans and boats that travel or park in freezing weather.
Are lithium RV batteries worth the cost? They cost more up front than lead-acid. One 12V 400Ah HUSKY 2 INV matches the rated capacity of four 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries, needs no electrolyte watering, is rated for 4,000 to 6,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge, and carries a 12-year limited warranty.
Can HUSKY 2 INV batteries be connected in series? No. HUSKY 2 INV batteries connect in parallel only, up to 16 matching batteries per bank.
Is HUSKY 2 INV a golf cart battery? No. HUSKY 2 INV is built for systems with an inverter. For golf carts, BigBattery offers the 48V HUSKY 2 PWR, 36V Eagle 2, or 48V Eagle 2.
Is HUSKY 2 INV waterproof? No. Its IP65 / NEMA 4X-rated enclosure resists dust, water jets and corrosion, but neither rating covers immersion, so the battery shouldn’t be submerged.
What is the 12V HUSKY 2e? The 12V HUSKY 2e is an upcoming, optimized, lower-cost version of BigBattery’s flagship 12V HUSKY 2 INV, with 314Ah and 4kWh of storage, compared with 400Ah and 5.12kWh in the 12V HUSKY 2 INV. Final pricing, availability and specifications will be announced separately.
